About the Lab

The Long Beach Beer Lab is located in the heart of the Wrigley neighborhood of Long Beach, along the Willow corridor near the Los Angeles River and the 710. We have quickly become a gathering place for neighbors and friends to meet, discover and enjoy high quality ales, funky sours and wholesome artisan breads in a warm and welcoming environment.

We create beer that you can drink and enjoy by the pint. Every beer we serve is balanced and derived from the unique characteristics we achieve through fermentation and hop character. Our constant pursuit of greatness means you can enjoy a rotating mix of traditional beers, wild ales and sour beers. We have beers for those who want to be adventurous and those who prefer to stick to the classics.

Just because we can do something doesn’t mean we do, but curiosity and experimentation are critical to discovery in the lab and the Long Beach Beer Lab is no different. Our brewery wants to take all of you on a quest to discover an experience of experimentation in a curious science of suds. As such, we are always searching for new yeasts, flavor profiles and techniques that can elevate our craft.

The Long Beach Beer Lab takes tremendous pride in creating beers that are interesting, but not fussy or weird for the sake of being weird. Our understanding of flavor, balance and how to get there with the appropriation of oak, funk and tartness is a distinct quality that you can taste in every sip. We don’t have a marketing budget. We make beer and sell that beer so we can make some more. Everything is spoken through the quality of our product and the people who are passionate about us, our beer and our food.

Our methodical attention to detail, passion for discovery, expert palates and technical, scientific acumen has created something beautiful. It may seem simple, but we believe our beer is special -- a reason to celebrate -- and we are so grateful for the opportunity to share it with all of you. The Long Beach Beer Lab is a meeting place for discussion and an inviting space for serendipitous encounters, where neighbors can get better acquainted, and friends can pick up right where they left off.

About the Bakery

Almost everything that comes out the kitchen at the Long Beach Beer Lab is made from scratch. It’s not on the menu unless we make it. We are a vegetarian establishment and committed to sourcing wholesome, local ingredients with a kosher certification whenever possible.

We put love and meticulous dedication into our artisan breads, pizzas and other tasty delights. You won’t find any overly processed fake meat or ingredients you can’t pronounce on our menu. We prefer to showcase locally sourced, seasonal produce because our palates demand it and our customers deserve the absolute best.

The wild microflora starter used in all of our sourdough breads was harvested off fruit growing in Levi’s childhood home right here in Long Beach. We always use high protein flour of impeccable quality, and mill all of the specialty grains in house.

We're also proud to be known for our unique ability to use our bread in our beer and, likewise, our beer in our bread. It's a clear differentiation between us and other breweries that makes our products incredibly rare. Not only are the beer and bread married at the Long Beach Beer Lab, so are the people who make it.

We stick to principles that matter most for us to create transformative tastes. For us that means, our food is vegetarian, local, seasonal, conscious and wholesome. Give us a try, we are confident you’ll taste the difference
